For the price, this was a great option. It was the best value I could find. However, I don't particularly like the style of the upper bed. I can't easily see my daughter in her bed- she is hidden by the big wooden panal, and the steps are a little difficult and uncomfortable to use. We do really like the desk and storage pieces.

What a great space saving bed!! Took some time to put together, but well worth it. Went to [...]after it was assembled, bought 2-3 pc basket sets for $18/each that fit perfectly in the side shelves for toy storage.

Service & Delivery comments:

Took a couple of days more than I expected to receive. Couple of pieces were damaged, but called the 1800 number on the instructions and was extremely impressed with their professionalism and quality customer service. They asked which parts were damaged and shipped them to me.

The overall bed is nice and fairly sturdy,except for the rails that hold the bed in place,which splits when you put the screw in it.The ladder looks metal in the tiny pic of it but is actually plastic.Anyone over 100 pounds will bend the rungs of the ladder so this bed is only for childern.The position of the ladder makes it hard for little ones to get over the top rail(dangerous).[...]

My 5-yr old daughter has the smallest of our bedrooms, and she was lacking storage space. We found this loft bed to be exactly what she needed. A lot of drawers and shelves to store her toys and other girl stuff.
I did not want some cheap stuff made in China.
South Shore is located in Quebec, Canada. Quality of the product is excellent. Assembly instructions are detailed with accurate pictures, in 3 languages (EN/FR/ES), and pieces are pre-sorted (so you don't have to waste your time trying to find that 6th little screw in the middle of a large bag). It took me 5 hours (with breaks) to put all pieces together, but I'm far from being an expert in that field.
I had to call South Shore customer service because the ladder was broken when I unpacked it, I'll get a replacement one in a few days, free of charge.
Only reason it does not get 5 stars is that the ladder was broken on arrival.

I love the amount of floor space it gives my daughter in her room. Her room is small so it works perfect for small spaces. I was disappointed it is made of particle board and am concerned about it lasting for a long period of time. Guess in time we will see. It is hard to give an honest report since it has only been up for about a week.

This bed was difficult to assemble because it is so heavy--which is really a good thing, because it is high quality wood! It's very cute. I would tell parents the height under the bed portion. This is because my daughter decided to assemble the bed with the desk under the bed portion, and it's rather low for that. I like it a lot. The only thing I think you need to change on the bed is that the ladder rungs hurt bare feet!

It's not that this bed was really difficult to assemble, but the holes tapped for screws were very small, so it was difficult to assemble without an electric screwdriver.

Very nice bed. Relatively easy to put together with two people. The roll board isn't high as expected and the top part can be a pain in the butt to align properly, but other than that, we were very pleased. I liked the grippers on the steps and the light in the desk, those were added bonuses.
