My 2 boys love the deer run -- we got the dark color that's pictured, and it came out even richer than I thought. My husband even loved it, and he's a tough sell!

As a mother of 2, I really appreciate how sturdy the bed is. It's made of much stronger wood than I thought. At first I was a little worried about buying this site unseen, but in retrospect I wish I had bought it sooner! 5 stars.

We got this as a surprise for our two boys after the older one broke his foot in a soccer game. We were looking for something stable and solid so it will last through rough-and-tumble treatment from our two boys. Even with a broken foot, this one is horsing around! The bed is more than I've dreamed of. We had some unlucky online purchases in 2005, so it took me until now to buy again, and boy are we happy! The wood is real solid and the color is terrific - it looks good like a very rich solid wood, not the cheap stuff you see on some kids furniture. I particularly like the double railing on the top bunk - I feel very secure putting my younger boy up there.

All my expectations were meet when this bed was delivered and set up for me. The quality and appearance is great. This bed is used for my two small children so the rating on support and comfort are hard to label as to the fact they both weigh less than 45 lbs. The slat pack is a necessity. I would not recommend the bunky board. I ordered one for the top bunk, laid it in place, and then went to the hardware store and had them cut OSB to fit the bottom. Works just as well. I would not recommend the wolfie mattresses. They are for a futon. They will work for a three year old and a six year old but we will be replacing down the road. The bed with the slat pack exceeded my expectations and will be able to serve as my children’s beds until they are on their own.

Using for toddler and as a guest bed. Decided on full over full because we can pull them apart and have two full sized beds when we have more space. In this case I feel that I got the quality and style I wanted while getting a bargain price. Loved that it was on sale. looked for over a year on different sites. Purchased the captains box and it is so nice. I like the look it gives the bed without raising the bed any higher. The room is small and I still needed some storage. The four drawers & two shelves are much more spacious then I thought they would be. The captain's box, ladder, railings, head and footboards all came assembled all we had to do was put the assembled pieces together. Most of the work is done for you. [...]. The hardware for the captain's box was in the bottom right drawer at first we thought it was missing. The quality is outstanding. It is a very dark rich beautiful solid wood. Railings on both sides of the top bunk. I have slept in it a couple times as well as my husband and he is a big guy so I think there is enough space. Was grateful for the option of using bill me later. Was really easy and fast to set up and use. It came with two different sets of slats. We used the one that were really close together. Becasue of the quality the new bunkie boards I bought I sent back also it gave more head room. No complaints. Would tell anyone looking hands down buy this one.

Full over full is a great combination. Will use these beds for our son from age 4 until college.

Although the bunk bed is not designed for thick more modern mattresses, we simply bought an undermattress bedrail for the upper bunk.

The quality for the price is unmatched. We searched for 3 - 4 months. This is the best.

Support slats are incredibly bendy.
Seems this could be so much better with a central support.
Some finishing blemishes on mine were a shame.
Spots where drips and runs can be seem, etc.

I really like the bed, the only thing is i would think it would feel a bit more sturdier.
It is a bit pricy and we've only had the set for a few months and there are already nicks and dents in it. It seems pretty delicte.
